Trash Pandas Get 5-1 Win Versus Ballard
|
The Watford City Trash Pandas trumped the Ballard Beavers, 5-1, at The Beaver Dam. Watford City third baseman Bartolo Olivo was terrific. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Henry Crawford came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. Ballard, at 23-29, has lost 4 straight.
With Watford City leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Olivo came up to bat against Ballard pitcher Patrick Meeks. Olivo hit a sinker to right for a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Trash Pandas on top, 4-1.
"We played hard and won," said Olivo. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
