Greenport Beats Long Island, 3-1

Greenport and Long Island played a hard-fought contest.
In a well-pitched game between the Greenport Harbor Whales and the Long Island Ducks, pitcher Dave Hill was superb. The Greenport right-hander helped his team win, 3-1. Dobrica Karkunica got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Greenport used a well-timed hit by Luis Gutiérrez to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Harbor Whales ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Gutiérrez told the Greenport Chronicle.
Greenport sits at 3-0.
