A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Amarillo Warheads and Memphis Music.
The Amarillo Warheads downed the Memphis Music, 9-0, at The Stage in Memphis. The Warheads were led by Francisco García. He was 4-5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. António Maldonado, the winner, improved to 1-3. He held Memphis to no runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Henry Morse picked up the save, his 1st.
Amarillo used the bat of Ik-jun An to get the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Warheads ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said García.
The victory gives Amarillo a record of 16-8.
