Beavers Prevail, 4-3, Over Beaumont
|
The Ballard Beavers defeated the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 4-3, in USSL Low A action at The Beaver Dam. Ballard pitcher Donald Carr had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Carr, now 2-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. The save went to Ricardo Guerra, his 3rd this season.
Iván Vargas tagged a home run off Sergio Gallegos in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Beavers on top, 3-1. In all, Vargas had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Vargas said.
The Crossbeaus, at 4-13, have stumbled out of the gate.
