Though the conditions were not ideal, the Amarillo Warheads and Beaumont Crossbeaus came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Amarillo Warheads defeated the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 3-2, in USSL Low A action at The Target. Amarillo pitcher Francis Owens had a standout performance. For Beaumont, now 2-12, the season is off to a dismal start.
Owens, the winner, is now 1-0 after putting the clamps on the Beaumont offense. In 7 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 10 Ks.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Manny Gonzáles.
