Sheehan Goes Deep Twice in 6-2 Centennial Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial topped the Maine Sea Dogs by the score of 6-2, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher Steve Sheehan. Sheehan slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Centennial. Fernando López picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-3. He struck out 6 in 5.2 innings. Li-ping Cheng closed the game out for Fort Knox, earning his 6th save.
In the top of the third, with the game still scoreless, Sheehan hit a grand slam home run to put his team in the lead.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
The win puts the Centennial at 60-27, while the Sea Dogs drop to 40-47.
