Hounds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Uruguayans, 5-2
|
The Germantown Uruguayans got a superb performance from pitcher Nacho Rivera. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hicksville. The Hounds won the game, 5-2. Rivera threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Yuk Yan closed the game out for Hicksville, earning his 3rd save. The 4th-place Hounds improved to 41-37.
Hicksville took a 3-2 lead on Chad Watson's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Watson hit in the top of the eighth, left Germantown pitcher Bill Teek shaking his head.
Watson called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
