Centennial Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally

The Fort Knox Centennial got a magnificent effort from pitcher Mark Moss, who kept Ogallala hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Centennial win at Ballpark of Baxter. The winner in relief was Roberto Cerda. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. Jerry Pate was credited with the save for Fort Knox, his 2nd of the season.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Nathan O'Rorke came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ogallala pitcher Eddy Poole, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Fort Knox on top, 2-1.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov.
The second-place Centennial have won 4 in a row.
