3-1 Triumph Takes Crowley to 34-20
|
The Crowley Cajuns and Bethlehem Angel Kitties played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Bruce Willing never let the Angel Kitties get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Cajuns to a win, 3-1. In 6 innings, Willing surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed no runs.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Paikea Hotu didn't flinch. With a runner on 2nd and Bethlehem trailing 2-1, Hotu retired Mike Fox to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Hotu, with a wink.
The Cajuns improved to 34-20.
