Uruguayans Win at Ogallala, 4-3
|
The Germantown Uruguayans took Ogallala pitcher Rick Hartsfield's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score had Germantown getting past the Octopi, 4-3. Hartsfield went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 7. Nacho Rivera, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Julián García earned the save, his 9th, for the Uruguayans.
Germantown used the timely hitting of Armando Otero to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Uruguayans on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put together a nice win," Otero said.
The Uruguayans now have a mark of 18-22.
