Sea Dogs Hang 6-2 Loss on Hounds
|
The Maine Sea Dogs picked up a win at Sea Dogs Park, knocking off the Hicksville Hounds, 6-2. On the mound for Maine was right-hander Allen Cates, who played a pivotal role in the win. Cates, the winner, moves to 4-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. Maine's record now stands at 18-22, placing them 6th in the Premier Low A.
Carlos López had a critical at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth for Maine. He came through with a grand slam home run to put Maine in front, 6-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Cates.
