South Beach Blaze starter Randall Wright was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Columbia River Rats, 4-2. Wright, now 9-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Daniel Neal earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.
The Blaze grabbed the lead in the bottom of the third. With one out, Koen Weegerink, who is rated as the 29th best prospect by BNN, hit a 2-run home run off Max von Wildungen, putting South Beach in front, 4-1. For Weegerink, it was his 7th home run of the season.
"It's good to win," Wright told the South Beach Gazette. "I like to have fun doing it."
The Blaze, at 53-40, sit in third place in the Premier A.
