Blaze Deal Generals 8-5 Defeat
South Beach and Washington got after it at Washington Park.

The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at Washington Park, taking down the Washington Generals, 8-5. Starting pitcher Tony Arce was a big reason why. Lloyd Best sewed up the save, his 5th.

Koen Weegerink took Jason Reid deep in the top of the first. His 2-run home run put the Blaze on top, 2-0. In all, Weegerink had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.

"Good win for us," said Arce. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."

The Blaze raised their record to 51-39.
