River Rats Top Crawdads, 1-0, Behind Smith
|
The Columbia River Rats got a magnificent performance from pitcher Junior Smith, who stifled the Cut Off offense en route to a 1-0 River Rats win at Columbia Stadium. Mike Nichols finished the game for Columbia and earned his 27th save. Columbia leads the Premier A by 3½ games.
The Crawdads had trouble solving Smith, who surrendered no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.
Smith called the triumph "a good team win."
