The Cut Off Crawdads took Columbia pitcher Nick Young's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Columbia Stadium. The final score had Cut Off getting past the River Rats, 6-4. Young went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 8. The win puts Cut Off at 45-40 this season.

March Canning aided the Cut Off cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop was 1-3.

"I like winning," Canning told the Cut Off News. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
