Crowley right fielder Arturo Cortéz had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cortéz hit 2 home runs, even as Hicksville beat the Cajuns, 6-5. The win belongs to Juliano Chianca in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kevin Evans took the loss for Crowley. The defeat makes Crowley 9-6.

Hicksville used a clutch hit from James Bell to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Bell said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
