Generals Squelch Jets Offense in Shutout Win
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Washington Generals and the Kennesaw Jets. Washington won it, 3-0. Washington starter Lou Thompson was in command. Thompson went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-2. Alejandro Quintana converted his 18th save in 20 tries.

The game could have flipped with no one out in the top of the sixth. But Lou Thompson made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With a runner on 1st and Kennesaw trailing 2-0, Thompson threw a curveball to Leonardo Silva and Silva hit into a double play.
