Factory of Sadness was the site for United States Silver League action featuring the Cape Coral Hurricanes and Baltimore Bullets.
The Baltimore Bullets got a good effort from starter Kris Collins in defeating the Cape Coral Hurricanes at Factory of Sadness. The final score was 9-0. The winning pitcher was Collins, now 3-2. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9.
The Bullets grabbed the lead in the top of the eighth. With one out, Yerson Acevedo, who is tied for 5th in the SL in bases on balls with 11, hit a 3-run home run off Bob Porter, putting Baltimore in front, 9-0. For Acevedo, it was his 5th home run of the season.
"I had a good game plan," said Collins. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Brandon Slouck said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
The defeat makes Cape Coral 7-14.
