Columbia starter Edward Lamb put a stranglehold on the Cut Off offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the River Rats to a 7-1 win. Columbia is in second place in the Premier A with a record of 38-27.

Columbia used the clutch hitting of Marcel Alberink to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the River Rats the lead, 2-1. For the game, Alberink had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Lamb told the Columbia Herald.
