Chiefs Top Arryns, 9-2
|
Caldwell starter Scott McKinley pitched well against the Lake Erie Arryns at Arryns Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 9-2. McKinley, now 5-5, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The loss makes Lake Erie 29-31.
The Chiefs got a big at-bat from second baseman Orlando Ramírez. For the game, Ramírez was 1 for 5 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Caldwell a 5-2 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Caldwell manager Dan Fletcher.
