A good performance from second baseman Iván Garza helped the Cut Off Crawdads defeat the Caldwell Chiefs, 10-3. Garza was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Crawdads. The Crawdads, at 30-23, sit in third place in the Premier A.

The Crawdads got an important contribution from right fielder Arturo Cortéz, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a 2-1 fastball into right for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Crawdads ahead, 4-3.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Cortéz told the Cut Off News. "It's as simple as that."
