Kennesaw Beats Cut Off, 7-4
|
The Kennesaw Jets topped the Cut Off Crawdads, 7-4, in USPL Single A action at Crawdads Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Kennesaw pitcher Zakaria Cobar. Cobar, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Thom Adams sewed up the save, his 1st.
Kennesaw used a well-timed hit by Bob Maxwell to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Jets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Cobar told a Kennesaw Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
The Jets raised their record to 16-21.
