Columbia River Rats starter Edward Lamb pitched a strong game against the Levittown Blue Dragons at The Cave at Levittown, leading the River Rats to victory, 5-1. Lamb, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Columbia, at 20-16, sits in 4th place in the Premier A.

Columbia used the timely hitting of Gary McGuire to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Rats on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In comments to the Columbia Herald, McGuire admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
