Fernández Leads Cut Off to 3-0 Win
|
Cut Off took on Walla Walla in front of a lively crowd.
Ricardo Fernández was superb against Walla Walla. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the PA with a 0.81 WHIP, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Crawdads victory. The score was 3-0. The save went to Ted Bottone, his 8th this season.
Fernández tossed 80 pitches over 6 innings to clinch the win for the Crawdads. The left-hander allowed just 2 hits, while racking up 9 strikeouts in the game.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Cut Off manager Manuel Barrios said.
The third-place Crawdads go to 19-14.
