2-1 River Rats Win over Walleye Evens Season Record
|
The Columbia River Rats picked up a win at Walleye Tank, courtesy of Edward Lamb. The right-hander helped his team stop the Walla Walla Walleye, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Lamb, now 1-3. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Mike Nichols recorded the save for Columbia, his 7th of the season.
Columbia used the timely hitting of Yu Wang to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Rats on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Columbia manager Kevin McCoy said.
With the win, Columbia upped its record to 13-13.
