The Monroeville Yinzers got a sterling performance from pitcher Sean Jones, but the Myrtle Beach Seahawks still prevailed, 7-3. Jones threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Ray Stevenson converted his 23rd save in 25 tries. Myrtle Beach has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
Had Bob Williams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Williams hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Seahawks.
