Blaze Handled by Washington, 4-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the South Beach Blaze and Washington Generals get after it.
The Washington Generals picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the South Beach Blaze, 4-1. Starting pitcher Jason Reid was a big reason why. In 6 innings, Reid surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run.
The Generals got a big at-bat from catcher Tyler West. For the game, West went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Washington a 1-0 lead.
"I liked his command," said Washington manager Nathan Horton. "Jason was throwing strikes."
The win gives Washington a season record of 13-9.
