Seahawks Snatch Late Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Myrtle Beach Seahawks and the Holy City Herons, pitcher Odwin Von Heezik was the difference between victory and defeat. The Myrtle Beach right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 Seahawks win. Myrtle Beach reliever Adam Hill got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Luis Pizarro was tagged with the loss. The Seahawks' win now puts them at 43-47.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Dan White, hit a single. It helped Myrtle Beach seize the win.
"We'll put that win in the can," said White, "and go after the next one."
