The Holy City Herons stymied the Alameda Airmen, 5-2, at Alameda Field. Richie Wallace had a good day at the plate. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for Holy City. The second-place Herons improved to 52-35.
Holy City relied on the bat of Jesús Soto to get the win. The first baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Herons ahead, 4-1. For the game, Soto had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Wallace told the Holy City Chronicle.
