The Grand Forks Caterpillars got a stellar performance from pitcher Steven Weaver, who handcuffed the Holy City offense en route to a win, 2-0, at Mango Yard. Weaver got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. Weaver allowed no runs. Mitch O'Sullivan earned his 17th save in 18 chances.
Grand Forks used a well-timed hit by Tony Flores to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Caterpillars ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
In comments to the Grand Forks Gazette, Flores admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
The 7th-place Caterpillars have won 4 in a row.
