Godfathers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Reapers
|
Pontiac Godfathers starter Dan Ward turned in a top-notch performance against the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. The result was a win for the Godfathers, 3-1. Júlio Medina, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Doug Edwards recorded the save for Pontiac, his 3rd of the season.
Pontiac used the timely hitting of Jerry Padgett to capture the win. The right fielder socked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was a solid team effort," said Ward after the game.
The Godfathers are now 41-38, while the Reapers fall to 51-28.
