The Washington Generals picked up a win at Columbia Stadium, courtesy of Lou Thompson. The right-hander helped his team stop the Columbia River Rats, 3-0. Thompson picked up the win for Washington, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. John Willis earned the save, his 5th, for the Generals.

Washington used a well-timed hit by Martín González to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Generals ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said González.

The victory makes Washington 6-6.
