In a well-pitched game between the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus and the Grim Reapers, pitcher Bill Powers was superb. The Smoky Mountain right-hander helped his team win, 1-0. Smoky Mountain, with the win, is 14-61.

The Hobeaus liked what they saw from Powers. The 22-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Reapers to no runs on 2 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 8.

In comments to the Smoky Mountain News, Powers insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
