Turner Does His Job Perfectly
|
Lake Erie Arryns starter Gabe Turner was as good as a pitcher can be today, as he hurled a perfect game against the Columbia River Rats.
In doing so, Turner accomplished one of the most difficult feats in baseball and one that will put his name in the record books.
"I can tell you I've dreamed about a day like this," Turner told the press after the game. "Now that I've done it, the feeling is even better."
In his splendid 4-0 victory at Columbia Stadium, Turner yielded no hits, walked none and had 14 strikeouts. In the historic outing he retired 27 successive batters.
