Jets Earn 6-1 Win Against Generals
|
The Jets grabbed a win, 6-1, at Washington Park, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Lou Thompson. Thompson went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. With the loss, Washington drops to 4-3.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Bob Maxwell's at-bat in the top of the 14th was vitally important. With one out, the Kennesaw center fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
Maxwell called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
