Godfathers Deal Vandals 8-3 Defeat
|
The Pontiac Godfathers topped the Eugene Vandals, 8-3, in USSL Single A action at The Riot Zone. The game was highlighted by the performance of Pontiac pitcher Dan Ward. Ward got the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Ward allowed 2 runs. After today's action, Pontiac sits at 33-32; Eugene slips to 33-32.
Pontiac used the bat of Haiku Arinya to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Ward.
