Reapers Get 5th Straight Win with Late Rally
|
Grim Reapers starter Stan Coffey turned in a sterling performance against the Monroeville Yinzers, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Mike Cardoza picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-1. Dave McKinney was tagged with the loss. Grim improves to 42-23 with the win. They lead their division by 4 games.
Grim used a clutch hit from Carl Gaston to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reapers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Coffey.
