The exploits of catcher Francisco Ferrer helped the Cut Off Crawdads defeat the Lake Erie Arryns, 5-2. Ferrer went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Carlos Allard, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The win gives Cut Off a record of 3-0.
Had Mike Coleman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Coleman hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Crawdads.
