Thompson Twirls a Gem for Washington
|
In a tight affair between the Washington Generals and the South Beach Blaze, pitcher Lou Thompson was in the zone. The Washington right-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. John Willis was credited with the save for Washington, his 1st of the season. The win has Washington at 1-1.
Thompson, who was born in Dayton, Ohio, threw 98 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"I liked his command," said Washington manager Nathan Horton. "Lou was throwing strikes."
