Nelson, Reapers Too Much for Seahawks
|
The Grim Reapers beat the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 6-5, at The Coffin. Mike Nelson, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mike Cardoza earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 4-1. The save went to Gustavo Villa, number 12 for him.
In the bottom of the sixth, Nelson put his team in front with his 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which came against Augusto Nieves, made it 6-5, Grim.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Nelson.
Grim, at 36-21, sits in first place in the Silver A.
