Holy City got a first-rate effort from pitcher Salvador Árias, who frustrated Delmarva hitters en route to a 2-1 Herons triumph at Mango Yard. Árias, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Miguel Hernández finished the game for Holy City and earned his 13th save.
Lorenzo Gutiérrez hit a run-scoring triple off Davey de Haan in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Herons in front, 2-1. Gutiérrez had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Árias told the Holy City Chronicle. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
Holy City now has a 5-game win streak.
