Larry Oliver was outstanding against Grand Forks. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the SA in strikeouts with 96, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Airmen 5-1 win. Oliver got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. Oliver allowed 1 run. The 6th-place Airmen improved to 28-26.

Reggie Ewbank was 1-4 for Alameda. In the top of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Ewbank delivered for the Airmen. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Alameda on top, 2-1.
