Jones, Yinzers Get 2-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Monroeville Yinzers and the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, pitcher Sean Jones was masterful on the mound. The Monroeville right-hander spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Ray Mitrou, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save. With the victory, the Yinzers upped their record to 28-24.
Jones was in the zone all game. He frustrated Myrtle Beach hitters while giving the Yinzers 8.1 innings of quality work. Jones threw 122 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 8 punchouts.
"The vibe's good," said Monroeville manager Luis Arreola. "We've got to keep it going."
