Gallos Pull Off Thrilling 6-4 Win in Extras
|
Delmarva starter Davey de Haan pitched well against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at Seahwaks Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4. Carlos Valtierra got credit for the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Benedito Punahele earned save number 4 this season.
Delmarva needed the clutch hitting of Andrew Clark to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Gallos on top, 6-3. For the game, Clark had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was terrific getting this win," Clark said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
With the win, Delmarva upped its record to 29-22.
