Gallos Come Back Late, Nip Godfathers
|
The Delmarva Gallos stymied the Pontiac Godfathers, 2-1, at The Cage. Brad Harris had a good day at the plate. He went 2-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Delmarva. Delmarva reliever Carlos Valtierra got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Garrett Curry was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Gallos are now 26-22, the Godfathers 25-23.
Harris had a timely hit for Delmarva in the bottom of the eighth. With Pontiac trailing 1-0, he turned a 0-2 changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season, making it 2-1, Delmarva.
"This was a tough loss," said Pontiac manager Allen Yohemas. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
