Narrow Win Takes Eugene Streak to 7
|
Eugene picked up a win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, bumping off the Monroeville Yinzers, 3-2. Pitcher Ed Lynch was a major reason the Vandals emerged victorious. Earning his 16th save of the year was Steffen Camp. The 7th-place Vandals have won 7 in a row.
Eugene used the timely hitting of Jesse Harris to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vandals on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Lynch.
