Myrtle Beach beat Eugene at Seahwaks Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to shortstop Mal Allen. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The third-place Seahawks have a record of 22-17.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fifth when Allen, who is tied for 9th in the SA in bases on balls with 19, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Seahawks into the lead, 4-3.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Allen told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
