Gallos Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Yinzers
|
The Delmarva Gallos bested the Monroeville Yinzers by a score of 7-1, with right fielder Gilbert Guy getting the main credit. On the day, Guy went 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Gallos. The winning pitcher was Daniel Henry. He tossed 90 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits. Carlos Valtierra was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Guy, who leads the SA in home runs with 8, hit a run-scoring triple. It propelled the Gallos into the lead, 1-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Guy told the Delmarva Today.
The victory gives the Gallos a record of 14-14.
