Vandals Cut Down Hobeaus, 5-2
|
Eugene Vandals starter Steve Kidd turned in an exceptional performance against the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus at The Riot Zone, resulting in a Eugene win, 5-2. Kidd got the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Kidd allowed 2 runs. Smoky Mountain, at 4-15, is off to a poor start in 2056.
The Hobeaus had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Vandals going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old second baseman Jared Rogers came to the plate. Rogers hit a 2-run double on a 3-1 fastball from Smoky Mountain hurler Jeff Brammall. It was Rogers's 1st double of the year.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Kidd.
