Grim pitcher Stan Coffey did his part in helping his team beat the Pontiac Godfathers, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The loss puts Pontiac at 10-9.

Ramón Cruz had a big run-scoring double for the Reapers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Grim leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Garrett Curry and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reapers ahead, 3-1.

In postgame comments to the Grim News, Cruz said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
